If you are in local network and Office 365 has been configured with ADFS, then you will not need to type the password if you have logged in the computer with your domain account.
Per my knowledge, no matter if you have configured ADFS for Office 365 or not, you still need to type the username for letting Office 365 to know that which domain account you will use (Office 365 account or local account). It seems that you have configured ADFS for Office 365 with local domain accounts, and you want to make the domain accounts access SharePoint online site without typing the username and password.
